The MTV Movie Awards is good for one thing and one thing only and that’s for exclusive trailers for upcoming films. Fortunately I have a computer and connections to a slew of bloggers that had this trailer up once it aired, so I didn’t have to subject myself to the mind melting mediocrity, that is MTV, to see it.
The new trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire looks way better than the first film. I say this because we seem to be getting into the real meat and potatoes of the storyline. The Hunger Games was just the tip of the iceberg and judging by this trailer there’s are whole lot of politiking to be done in The Capital and it starts with Katniss Aberdeen’s head on a platter. Just watching this trailer as President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland and Plutarch Heavensbee, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, sit over wine and food and nonchalantly talk about the fate of Katniss, just gave me chills. Those two couldn’t be more suited for the roles they are playing in this film. So yeah…I guess I like this trailer. I’m also psyched to see what director Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) does with the look and feel of this film.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright, and Amanda Plummer. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens on November 22nd in IMAX and traditional theaters.
